Gustav Mahler Sinfonia n.º 10 (Cooke)

The writing of Symphony No. 10 was interrupted by Mahler’s death. The composer had left a complete andamento and detailed sketches of the rest. In this way, the materials nurtured the possibility of bringing it to life, and several people became involved in the construction of that jigsaw. The English musicologist Deryck Cooke was noteworthy in creating several versions of the work that have become a frequent presence in concert halls. The spirit of Mahler in a work that merges Romanticism and Modernism in a tense and exciting way.
