German choral music is umbilically linked to the Protestant Reformation led by Luther. By encouraging community music practice, traditions were established that have expanded into other areas. This concert will present choral works from the late Renaissance to the present day that reflect the diversity of vocal practices in those territories. Schein’s pieces link the various historical times and artistic movements, in underlining the continuities and ruptures in music over the centuries.
