The figure of Karlheinz Stockhausen tutored and nurtured the post-Second World War avant-garde. This concert presents works by him and composers within his sphere of influence. The sonic spatiality of Stop contrasts with the textures of the Notations by the French Pierre Boulez, Stockhausen’s friend/rival. The Italian avant-garde led by Bruno Maderna emerges with a very particular work, Giardino Religioso. Three composers and conductors who collaborated in transforming the music of our time.
