Orquestra Sinfónica do Porto Casa da Música Sylvain Cambreling direcção musical Kurt Weill Sinfonia n.º 2 - Wolfgang Rihm Sub-Kontur Kurt Weill’s output was varied. From collaborative works with Bertolt Brecht to Broadway musicals, he embodied a multifaceted Modernism processing inter-war models of American music. At the same time, he embraced Classic and Romantic orchestral models. Written in Paris, during a very difficult period for the composer, his second symphony embodies his vision of Modernism. Wolfgang Rihm is a point of reference for present-day German music. In Sub-Kontur, a work dedicated to Stockhausen, the young composer presents the tensions between a serialist model and a contrasting personal approach.
