The Ensemble Allettamento debuts at Casa da Música with a program that covers the evolution of the repertoire for violin and cello throughout the 17th and 18th centuries. Entirely dedicated to Italian composers, the recital includes works that demonstrate the different discourses and dynamics that emerged between the two instruments during the Baroque period. Formed by Mario Braña and Elsa Pidre, the name of this project derives from the Allettamenti da Camera, by Valentini and Tessarini, which are among the first works written specifically for this formation. Connecting with the audience is one of the goals of the ensemble, which is, therefore, characterized by the intention of “allettare” – to please, seduce and move the listener's affections. The Ensemble Allettamento was awarded at the Gijón International Early Music Competition, earning praise from the audience and the critics.
