Béla Bartók O Príncipe de Pau (versão completa)
Symbolism was incarnated in various forms throughout Modernism. Written by Béla Balázs, The Wooden Prince is a love story in which a prince, in his intention to conquer a princess, and out of caution, sends a stick replica of himself, not imagining that the princess would fall in love with the doll... Orchestral colourfulness and the ancestry of traditional music come together in a unique manner. Another Hungarian, György Kurtág, wrote a rarely heard work for a large orchestra, Stele. This will be the Portuguese premiere of this remarkable score, which is based on the non-definition of frequencies, in a textural plot dominated by timbre.
