Virtuosity is the motif of this double concert. The chamber approach of Donatoni, Mozart and Sammartini crosses genres and styles from the 18th and 20th centuries. Da capo, a concerto by Peter Eötvös, was premiered at Casa da Música in 2014. We heard a version of the work for marimba and ensemble, which was characterised by its expressiveness. The gallant Italian style, with a focus on Milan, defines the second part of the concert. Mozart’s connection to the northern Italian city was imprinted onto his compositions. Music from three centuries at the hand of masters.
