Alena Baeva is a violinist known for her rigour and musicality and, as such, a special interpreter of Beethoven’s Violin Concerto, a work that reconfigured the orchestral approach to the genre. The second part of the programme is filled with another concert, this time for orchestra. The tradition of the concerto grosso and Bartok’s Modernism blend with new avant-garde visions in a landmark work composed by Lutosławski, which quickly crossed borders.
