There are Christmas ballets and then there is The Nutcracker. Tchaikovsky wrote a ballet associated with the Christmas season where toys magically come to life. In doing so, they navigate various worlds and encounter very special characters. The contrast between the various moments is underscored by the orchestration, in a landmark work of ballet in the Russian Empire. In this concert, there will be narration, which will complement the music with words and make it possible for the whole family to follow the story.
