Orquestra em Mafra

Orchestra in Cultural Heritage · Free Entrance

Built in 1747 during the reign of King João V, Tapada de Mafra stands adjacent to the Palácio de Mafra, an architectural icon of the Portuguese Baroque, and was built with the purpose of being a leisure area of the Portuguese royal family. It is in this inspiring scenario that Orquestra Barroca Casa da Música performs with the acclaimed conductor, violinist and countertenor Dmitry Sinkovsky. The night begins with a dance symphony by Rebel, a prominent figure from the courts of Louis XIV and Louis XV, includes Handel's famous Water Music and ends in Italy with infectious Vivaldi melodies.
