  • The epitome of Russian music and one of the greatest symphonists of his time, Prokofieff had a somewhat rebellious temperament, which at times astounded and irritated his colleagues and teachers. His First Symphony was bold: a dive into Classicism, combining in a humorous way the language consolidated by Haydn and Mozart and musical elements of the 20th century. Helena Marinho's comments reveal important details of Prokofieff's first symphonic adventure and show us the connections with someone who was inevitably one of the references in his compositions: Joseph Haydn.
