Discovered nearly 200 years after it was written, Haydn's Cello Concerto No. 1 quickly established itself as one of the most important in the literature of the instrument. To interpret it, Orquestra Barroca is accompanied by Pieter Wispelwey, a Dutch cellist with a solid international career, winner of many accolades and highly requested in the fields of early and contemporary music. The Remix Ensemble continues its homage to one of the most important Italian creators of our time, Salvatore Sciarrino, with a work in which the composer explores the primary element of his music: sound. The program also includes the premiere of a piece commissioned to the Young Composer in Residence, Carlos Lopes, written especially for the Remix Ensemble.
