In his motet Si bene perpendi, Renaissance composer Orlando di Lasso says something like: “If I remember correctly, there are five excuses for drinking: the visit of a guest, present thirst, as well as future thirst, or the goodness of the wine, or any other excuse you choose.” Lassus Grand Cru is a concert with wines fit to the music that will be played. Or perhaps ... a wine tasting with music designed for its aromas and flavours. The compositions come from the Renaissance and are signed by Orlando di Lasso and some of his contemporaries. On stage is the award winning ensemble Zefiro Torna, known for giving life to the medieval, Renaissance and Baroque cultural heritage in an original way, privileging the intersections of different musical traditions with other arts, science and philosophy.
