Rodrigo Affreixo was one of the biggest names in cultural journalism in the North in the 80's and 90's. He started DJing in 1999, having performed in more than 40 venues in the country. As a DJ he created the theme nights “80” (1999), “Chocolate Preto” (2000), “Super Cock / LusoPop” (2001) and “Disco Heavy” (2003). A researcher and collector of Portuguese popular music, he organized the LusoPop compilation (iPlay, 2008) and, in this context, has been in charge of São João at Casa da Música. He perceives dance music as a continuum, favouring the primordial intimacy between black music, disco and house. He is currently part of the team of the future Batalha Centro de Cinema and still maintains a monthly residency as a DJ at the Gigi party, in Plano B.
